Ceramics Instruction

Hand Building · Ages 6-8
Wheel Throwing · Ages 9-12 or Teen 13+

The Wayne Art Center is currently in search of instructors to offer classes in hand building, wheel throwing, ceramic sculpture, finishing and glazing skills for elementary through high school age students. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skill in ceramics, as well as knowledge of glazing and firing processes and general studio cleanliness procedures. Wayne Art Center ceramics instructors must be able to work as a part of the team, and light tech duties as pertain to your classes are expected. Previous teaching experience strongly preferred. A Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Art is preferred, but not required.

Classes for Winter 2020 run from the week of January 20th through the week of March 28th, and individual classes meet once per week. Potential candidates should be able to commit to at least one day-time (9:30AM-3:00PM) or the occasional day-time workshop on school holidays and Saturdays.

Scheduled ceramics instructors are required to meet with the Ceramic Studio Manager prior to the start of their classes to go over WAC Ceramic Studio policies and expectations.
