Free Family Day of Art & Music, sponsored by Target

October 17, 2011 · The Wayne Art Center

On Sunday, November 13th from 2-5pm join the Wayne Art Center as we present a special day of free family-friendly art activities and live music as a benefit to our local community.  Art workshops begin at 2pm, and are open to children ages 4 & up together with parents or grandparents.    At 3pm, all will be invited to join us for a concert by the award-winning duo Atwater-Donnelly.  The duo will perform a unique and thrilling blend of traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with original songs and poetry.

The highly praised husband-wife duo blends gorgeous vocals with an astonishing array of instruments including the mountain dulcimer, old-time banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and more.  Based in Foster, Rhode Island, Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly have traveled for twenty-four years in the United States and occasional trips to Ireland, England, and Canada, to perform.  They have produced six books, a film, and twelve recordings that have received international airplay.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this first installment of our NEW cultural arts & entertainment series program!  This program has been partially sponsored by a grant from Target, and we are excited to be able to offer this free opportunity to enjoy a day of music and art as a family to our local community.  For more information, please visit our website, www.wayneart.org – or call our reception desk, 610-688-3553.  We hope to see you there!
