FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Wayne Art Center Welcomes Minghui School Chinese Dance Team – June 28th, 2012.

On Wednesday, June 27th the Wayne Art Center welcomed 6 talented dancers from the Minghui School Chinese Dance Team.  The girls and their instructor Rosaline Babich performed 4 dances including the Lotus Flower, a Fan Dance, Ribbon Dance and Traditional Drum Dance in full & beautiful costume for an audience of approximately 100 campers & community members.   To end, the girls led those in attendance in a traditional Chinese Mind & Body exercise called Falun Gong, based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

The Minghui School is a school of Chinese tradition and culture associated with the Greater Philadelphia Asian Cultural Center.  We were glad to be able to host this educational and insightful program for our students and members of the community. We are also grateful to the Greater Philadelphia Asian Cultural Center for their sponsorship of our 2012 Summer Entertainment Series.  The Wayne Art Center will continue this series of family friendly performances and art workshops on Wednesday, July 11th, as we welcome chainsaw artist Marty Long.  Marty will demonstrate his techniques of chainsaw carving for campers and the public on the Wayne Art Center grounds, and donate the resulting sculpture to the Center.  This FREE program will begin at 11:30AM, and run approximately 45 minutes.   Please see the events page on our website, www.wayneart.org for the full schedule of Summer Entertainment programs.  Send your RSVP with the number of attendees to
