Kinder Art & Clay

Ages 5 & 6. Children will learn basic techniques of handbuilding with clay. Their natural creative instincts will be encouraged through a variety of clay projects designed to stimulate the imagination.

Drawing

Ages 8 & up. Drawing is a skill that can be developed through practice and proper training. Basic tips and techniques will be presented along with a lot of encouragement. Students will experiment with various drawing media.

Adult/Teen Metal Jewelry

Ages 13 & up. Students develop their jewelrymaking skills working in copper, bronze and nickel (silver is not included). Techniques of wire forming, forging, tooling, soldering, polishing and stone setting will be taught. Additional materials list provided at time of registration. Lab fee included. Materials list available upon registration.

Pottery for Adults/Teens

Ages 14 & up. This unique class is designed to excite the beginning potter as well as motivate the more advanced artist. We will explore a variety of techniques from slab building and coils to pinch pots and wheel throwing. In addition to group instruction, students will receive individual attention and be able to work at their own pace. Glazing and firing fees included.

Adult/Teen Drawing & Painting

Ages 15 & up. This course is for beginners who want to explore various drawing and painting skills and materials, as well as more experienced artists who want to shake things up and/or add to their existing repertoire of techniques. Using still life and self-portraiture, students will learn about form, space, composition, value and color. Throughout the course we will also look at work by artists, both past and present.

Ages 7 & up. Explore a vast array of mixed media while learning techniques in drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and sculptural constructions. Focus will be on experimentation and enjoyment.

Drawing & Painting for Teens

Ages 11 & up. Instruction in drawing and painting with the goal of increasing visual awareness of light, shadow and form in order to give the illusion of depth. Still-life, self-portrait and some imaginary compositions will be produced. Several artists in history will be studied. Projects completed in this course will also help high school students build a portfolio for college applications.
