Community Outreach Programs
Outreach programs at Wayne Art Center allow us to form partnerships with schools, groups, and special needs populations in order to provide arts enrichment activities, field-trip opportunities, and expand the awareness of and appreciation for the visual arts in our community.
The Wayne Art Center currently provides:
- Merit Badge programs for both the Boy & Girl Scouts of America
- PLUS Art classes for seniors who demonstrate need
- Both traveling & in-house programs for children with special needs. We have been proud to partner with:
- The Timothy School (A school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders)
- The Melmark School (A school for adolescents with a range of learning disabilities)
- St. Lucy's Day School (A school for children with visual impairment)
- The Woodlynde School (A school for children with minor learning disabilities)
- Special programs and art classes for home school students.
- 'Broaden Your World' Painting & Ceramic classes for adults with traumatic brain injury and other special needs.
- Field trip programs for local pre-schools & private schools. We host programs at our facility, or travel to locations within 15 miles of the Wayne Art Center.
- Family Fun days. Join us for special arts enrichment programs geared towards families, scheduled on Saturdays throughout the year.
- Arts and entertainment activities are offered each year as a part of our Summer Art Camp program. These ½ hour to 45 minute performances and/or activities are hosted on-site, and are offered free and open to the public.
- Special docented exhibit tours are offered to schools, retirement communities, and other non-profit organizations to provide for education on the specific art & artists within an exhibition.
Can you think of a way that your organization could partner with us to further the cause of art in our community? Please contact us today!
