An active sketching practice is an invaluable aid to successful painting. Sketching trains the eye to simplify complex scenes into simplified shapes and forms. Charlie Hunter's distinctive work turns heads and raises questions, and this fun and fast-moving workshop will show how he uses his sketches to make powerful, near-monochromatic paintings.
Weather permitting, class will involve a mix of demos, field sketching and studio painting, culminating in an informative, supportive critique session. You will learn and laugh a lot each day while staying true to the credo of 'Have big fun; Make big mess.'
