Plein Air Festival 2012

May 14 through June 23, 2012

Mark your calendar for Wayne Art Center's sixth annual Plein Air Festival. Over thirtyfour of our country's finest plein air artists will gather to paint the inspiring landscapes of the Delaware Valley. This exciting event will conclude with a gala opening and sale of works completed during the festival. "En plein air", a French phrase meaning "in the open air" is currently a well appreciated artform that captures the atmosphere and spontaneity of the moment.

We are excited to announce that the juror for this year's event will be Jeanette Le Grue. Jeanette was born and raised on Kodiac Island, Alaska. The midnight suns, long days of darkness and dramatic colors of her childhood inspired her to create uniquely powerful and dramatic work. She moved to California in 1980 and now lives, paints and operates the F.I.S.H. School of Color in the small town of Tomales near the coast of Northern California.

Jeanette shows her work in galleries and museums throughout the United States. She has been the subject of feature articles in several national art magazines and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards of excellence in painting.

Jeanette will teach a workshop at the Wayne Art Ctr:
