- Learn stone carving techniques. You will be working with Soapstone ( also known as steatite) is a talc schist , type of metamorphic rock. Finish your working by sanding and polishing. Create 3-D abstract or representational. You will have a nice piece to take home after a week. Class projects will change weekly to correspond with the designated Isms of Art.
