Join Doug for this lunchtime lecture to hear him discuss his personal style and technique. Feel free to drop in before or after your classes. Bring a lunch to enjoy while you listen! Doug has been a pastel artist for 40 years, and he has studied extensively with various pastel masters like Herman Margolies and Albert Handell. His landscapes are done mostly Plein Air and are known for the vibrant use of color and movement. He and his wife Susan travel each year to the National Parks out west and Doug teaches workshops on the road and various classes locally through a number of art organizations. Doug will present an overview of addressing problems when painting various subjects including moving water, trees and mountains. He will be using a combination of sketches and paintings to illustrate his discussion.
