Using a limited palette of high chroma colors, students learn how to create the more subtle tones that can sometimes confound and frustrate painters in their pursuit of color accuracy, harmony, and balance. Using images designed to address this issue, students will be given “recipes” to create the colors they see before them, resulting in a better understanding of basic color theory. Students will paint from provided images and the class is open to all fluid mediums - oil, acrylic, and watercolor - as well as all skills levels.
