Painting offers artists an opportunity to interpret the beauty of nature. This two-day workshop with artist Neal Hughes teaches students to capture the essence of that beauty through plein air painting, as he shares his personal technique and philosophy when painting outdoors. Through demonstration and instruction, Neal explains his thought process as paint is applied, emphasizing the balance between authentic realism and the poetry of artistic expression. Topics discussed include composition, color, edges, and surface quality. Students will have the opportunity to paint while receiving individual feedback and instruction based on their ability and level of experience.
