September 16 – November 11, 2019
Wayne Art Center’s Honors String Orchestra brings together the finest teen musicians ages 13 – 19 to rehearse and perform outstanding original works of string orchestra literature by notable composers from a variety of time periods. Concerts often provide the opportunity for students to work with exceptional adult professional soloists.
This exciting ensemble enhances and supports school orchestra programs and provides an opportunity for home-schooled students and other outstanding young adult musicians to benefit from an ensemble experience.
Through the pursuit of musical excellence, young adults will experience the joy of music making, develop a lifelong passion for music, reinforce leadership potential, and enrich the surrounding community by sharing their talents through a high quality concert experience.
Auditions will be held on August 29, September 5, and September 10.
