Summer Art Camp 2022: Week 2

David Hockey; The Arrival of Spring, 2011

Art Along the Thames - London & the British Isles

June 20 – June 24

Our first jaunt across the pond takes us to the London National Gallery, one of the most visited art galleries in the world and to the Tate Modern, the crown jewel of modern art galleries in London. We will also travel outside of London to visit Stonehenge, the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe. We will explore the green pastures, the bucolic countryside and castles of Ireland and Scotland and create our own masterpieces inspired by the artists, civilizations and environments of this land. This week, campers will discover their impressions of nature or a scene and capture a moment in time. Artists: Francis Bacon, John Constable, Barbara Hepworth, Damian Hirst, David Hockney, Henry Moore, J.M. William Turner.
