Summer Art Camp 2021: Week 4

Henri Matisse; The Dessert. Harmony in Red. The Red Room

Fauvism · July 6-9

1899-1908, France Fauvism was a style of painting that flourished in France around the turn of the 20th century and was known for its strong focus on abstraction and simplified forms. Fauve artists known as “wild beasts”, used pure, brilliant color applied straight from the paint tube to create a sense of explosion on the canvas. Campers will ignite their imaginations this week as we look to Henri Matisse, Andrew Derain and Georges Braque for inspiration and create works of art that stimulate a freedom to be unique! Artists: Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy, Georges Braque, Georges Rouault, Jean Puy.
