It is essential for jewelers to be comfortable with sketching their ideas and then drafting patterns for use in the fabrication of a piece of jewelry. Sketching jewelry is small scale drawing and, with practice, becomes a skill of great merit. This class will not only focus on how to begin a sketch and refine it but also on the design elements that comprise both two-and three-dimensional designs. Once a student is satisfied with their design, the class will learn how to draft patterns for the components for the piece.
