This workshop will focus on helping students transform their interest in drawing and painting into the art of Monotypes and Monoprints. Monoprinting is considered the most painterly of all printmaking techniques. Techniques covered will include, but not be limited to, dark and light field monotypes, trace monotypes, chine colle, glazing, and the printing of actual objects. These prints can be further developed into collage and mixed media pieces. It is appropriate for beginners with no printmaking experience to more advanced printmakers who want to refresh and advance their skill base. Materials will be provided by the instructor for a $40 materials fee.
