Seurat used dots of different colors to create pictures in a style known as Pointillism, Cezanne, known as the “father of modern art”, used planes of saturated color and small brushstrokes to create a patchwork of geometric forms, while van Gogh painted with bold, dramatic brushstrokes that expressed emotion and a feeling of movement. Artists: Paul Cezanne, Paul Gaugin, George Seurat, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Rousseau.
